TThe Penta Security Systems Inc. Intrusion Detection System Siren 3.0 is a security system designed to detect and respond to technical attacks. Siren 3.0 is a hybrid-type intrusion detection system that combines techniques in misuse detection and anomaly detection. Siren 3.0 consists of the Siren Server and a combination of Siren Agents and Siren Consoles. The Siren Agent is installed on applicable systems or on each subnet, and is designed to continuously detect and respond to intrusions by analysis of audit data from the OS and network packets.
The Siren Agent supports host-based and network-based intrusion detection, as well as a hybrid model, thus allowing for easy application on all environments and accurate detection of a wide range of intrusions. The Siren Server is able to manage the Agents as well as detect and provide real-time responses to various sophisticated attacks on the systems. The Siren Console allows one administrator to inspect and configure log data, and allows assistant administrators to inspect log data only, thus allowing for easy management over a large-scale network.
